Returning to the Winters collection are the highly personal, extremely unique "Mother and Child" paintings. These expressive and modern acrylics are based on the artist's life experience of becoming a father over eleven years ago when his son, Rowdy, was born. At that time, Winters created a series of charcoal and watercolor figurative studies inspired by his wife, Lisa, and son. Now, the series has evolved to this new contemporary style. Says Winters, "Through the use of lines, simplified shapes, expressive color and texture, the paintings capture the intimacy, the bond, an dlove of a relationship that lasts a lifetime....that of a mother and child."
